Thank you to both Frances and Brian. There is no Will listed unfortunately, and I have also searched Scotlands People to no avail. The burial info is correct - I visited the cemetery personally in 2003 and was allowed to photograph the appropriate page in the register.

I guess I will have to accept the fact, when and where Simon's entry into this world was, will remain a mystery.
