there was a considerable Kinsale fishery that corresponded to the usual census time - those for 1881 are for example readily found on their vessels (due to the night the Peel contingent sailed they actually appear twice (some several hundred ), so they can be checked) - however this fishery started earlier, as in 1851 there are some 60 wifes in Peel indicated as heads of household (describing themselves as wife of mariner etc) - assuming that there were also younger single males on the boats then I suspect 120-150, possibly more, men from Peel alone may be missing from that census - possibly likewise for Patrick but I havn't checked this
