There is a marriage in Kirk German PR - 18 OCT 1806 Samuel Fick to Catherine Lord - entry stated 'both of this parish', like 99.9% of other married by licence, both signed with an x - witnesses were Willm Cannell roper & John Shimmin Ballabooiy.
Samuel and Catherine lived in Peel, along Patrick Street I think, he died 1840 aged 53 she in 1844 - but some of their children moved away to Douglas
(there is an entry in Ger PR of baptism of Samel Fick son of John Fick and Isabel Key on 29 Oct 1786, he wasn't included on the 1799 list of confirmations possibly he is on the yet to be transcribed 1803 list.

The more interesting marriage also in Kirk German is on 9 April 1761 between John Danael Fick originally of Lubeck but now of douglas mariner, and Elizabeth Stone of this parish - marriage by licence, JDF signed name witnesses were william callin bleacher, wm cottiman cooper.

The John Fick was the 1st (?) son of the above bapt in Kk German on 21 FEB 1762 - I can't however find him in list of confirmees.

There may have been a sister of John Daniel as there is an illegitimate birth also in Kk German recorded of Margaret Ficke to Philip Stephan & Elizabeth Ficke on 24 Apr 1767 (tho the two may not have been related)
