Here are his notes................
Lois tells me that John was the only member of his family to survive very rough seas during a crossing from the Isle of Mann to the mainland. All his family were drowned.
He came to Australia in abt 1850-60
!CENSUS: The 1841 I think this is correct from a fellow helper....
census does not give any details beyond name and age so it is difficult to be sure.
