THe Baxendale family were close relations of Deemster Richard Sherwood. I believe they inherited the Sherwood property in Duke Street, Douglas & possibly in Braddan as well.
I am not sure how much time they spent on the Island.
Copy letters of Deemster Sherwood to his son in Australia were deposited at MNH some years ago.
