George died 23 Nov 1838 Marown
s George Hampton of Ballarey in the parish of Marown having departed
this life on the 23rd Nov last past intestate leaving Jane his widow and
four lawful begotten sons namely Robert, George, John and Thomas Hampton.
And whereas the said George and John Hampton have come to the following
agreement with their brother the said Jane
Hampton respecting the personal property of the father decease.
Know all men therefore by these presents that we the said George and John
Hampton for and in consideration of the sum of forty pounds lawful British
to be to us paid by the said Jane Hampton or by the executor or executrix of
the said Jane Hampton¹s last will and testament have
------- released just claimed and disclaimed and by these present do
now release quit claim and ------ unto the said Jane Hampton her heirs
executors administrators and assigns all and singular all and every sum and
sums of money, mortgages, securities, goods, and effects moveable and
immoveable of every denomination and description whatsoever that
we have or may become possessed of or entitled unto by the death and decease
of our father the said George Hampton (as he having departed this life
without making a will)
To have and to hold the same unto the said Jane Hampton her heirs and
assigns as her and their real and indisputable right and interest. And for
the performance thereof we bind ourselves our heirs executors administrators
and assigns in the final sum of ten pounds.
As witness our names the third of December one thousand eight hundred and
thirty eight (1838).
