I am looking for information regarding the installation, and possibly the name of the designers/builders, of the first public weighing machine on Ramsey Quay with a view of establishing the possible date of arrival in the Isle of Man of Henry Forshaw, my great grandfather. I have a transcript of a letter dated 1st. March, 1930 from Mr A.C.Teare, Editor of 'The Ramsey Courier' to Stanley Sutherland Beaumont Forshaw (grandson) in which he says "Your father, Mr.W.H.Forshaw was the son of Henry Forshaw, an engineer, who came to Ramsey in connection with the installation of the first public weighing machine in Ramsey Quay'
