John Gawne, son of Chas. & Susannah, married widow Jane Callister (Liverpool 1848) and with her 2 children, John & Catherine, left the I.O.M. for New York. I foud them on the 1850 Census, along with their child Susan who was 1 at the time.
Jane returned to the I.O.M. sometime in the '60's and is shown on the census of 1871, under John Radcliffe of Marown, with daughter Emma (my grandmother) who later that year married Henry Moore of Lonan. On Jane's M.I. (Marown 1879) it mentions her husband John as "late of Philadelphia" and son John Collister buried in 1865. I have 2 questions:-
1) Is there anyway I can find Jane's address on the I.O.M. in
1860's - I think she returned during the first half and I
know Emma was living on Forte St. Douglas. I'm trying to
pin down John's date of death.
2) Does anyone know how many cemetaries in Philadelphia
there would be, before the 1870's or how I could find out?
Any help would be appreciated.
