Oh that's great! Big help with John's parents. Any DOB's/DOD's/POB's or other siblings?
Wasn't certain if John the chemist was same as John the Teacher @ Jurby Parochial.
Would really like to find out if following Stephenson's in same line, and to match up.
1511/1515 Manorial Roll mentions William Stephenson, also John Stephenson, And Thomas Stephenson. They each are listed several times for (if I'm interpreting correctly) paying rent on several different acrages, cottages & chambers. (Define chamber?) If one person is renting 100's of acres, and listed for Chamber seperately ... is he subletting?
Also William and Wife listed under Fines and Amercements:
He for default in appearing at the suit of Hugh O'Morgan, another for drawing blood on John Blakman, an amercement at suit of Reginald Skylycorne.
She (along with several other's) "for receiving a felon as in the Court Rolls of this year appears". Also another "because she broke the pinfold as in the Court Rolls ..."
(Great deal of "drawing blood" fines to different people. Would love to find out what was going on!) Also, deffinition of "pinfold", if to do with her being confined ... How do I find out for what?
Robert Stephenson also mentioned in fines and amercements. Involved in suit with Mold Mcskerff. How do I find out what that was about?
Thomas Stephenson and Robyn Scott "fined for drawing blood on Paton McQuyrk as in the Court Rolls ..."
How do I access the Court Rolls?
I'm starting new research with additional info you two have provided. This is really fun and exciting! Thanks so much for your help.
