Charles Radcliffe bapt July 19 1778, died 1869 married 1817 Ann LACE als QUINE 1772-1862 Farrants Fort, dau. Elizabeth b.1817 marr. Daniel CLARK, Jurby [CR]. Petition 1850.

Constance Radcliffe wrote that Ann was the bone-setter:
"Croit Skinner was left to John's youngest son Charles, a joiner, who married Ann Lace
alias Quine from German. Charles and Ann had one daughter Elizabeth, who married
Daniel Lace Clark of Jurby in 1838. At the time of the 1851 Census, Charles was
farming 33 acres at Farrant s Fort, and his wife had made a name for herself as a
bone-setter, a skill inherited by her Clark descendants."

These were Radcliffes who lived in Bride for a couple of generations. Charles's parents were John Radcliffe and Margaret Kneale married 14 Jan 1752. This marriage is in the Andreas parish regs as "Jon Radcliffe (of KK Bride) and Margaret Kneale of this parish”.
