I now know a lot more about the Swanns and the Kellys. I was mistaken about Benjamin Swann having the middle name Vannin. Benjamin was born in in York. He moved to Bishop Burton and worked as a schoolmaster. His first wife died, and he married the much younger Jeanette Jane Kelly (1867-1932) from the Isle of Man. They had 2 children (Eric Vannin and Ella B), and it looks like Jeanette went back to the IOM to have the babies and then immediately took them back to Yorkshire. I believe that Jeanette Kelly's parents were William Kelly and Eleanor Watterson, and I believe that Eleanor's parents wre James Watterson and Ann Quilliam. There are too many Ann Quilliams born around 1815 for me to guess which one was our Ann, but it looks like the Qulliam family has been well-researched in the past so I'm sure a link will turn up eventually!
