I notice an Elizabeth Dewar was christened in Carlisle 1808 to James Dewar and Elizabeth Corkoll. Also a Mary Dewar married a Joseph Edgar in Carlisle 1832.
Maybe this Elizabeth Dewar came to the island to marry but there appears to be a connection with Carlisle.
