I recently found a useful tool for reducing long and unwieldly URLs for bookmarking sites or more importantly a particular page on a site where one has found perhaps particular info - for instance at ancestry.com or familysearch.org - and/or placing in emails. Also useful if one wants to hide a URL for a particular reason.

Go to the site....

http://tinyurl.com/

Enter your long URL into the "box" then click and the new url appears... its that easy....
