The following website may help many of our off Island posters locate Manx placenames.

Remember you will need to use modern spellings for best results and to select the "GB placename" select button. Just the name will suffice, do not add "Isle of Man". If there is more than one for the whole of GB, then a selection will be provided.

It has its limitations of course in that it won't recognise such requests as "Malew Church", but surely a worthwhile resource.
