In Response To: Re: Qualtrough north & south ()

I will follow up your suggestion Nigel and see if Catherine Waterson als Qualtrough is possibly a d/o John Q & Bahee Skillicorn. Perhaps Bahee's will may contain the answer... will attempt to locate the will shortly.

You mention an Elizabeth.... who is she? Could you be more explicit please.

As an aside, and with regards to your Lonan Q research, I am of the opinion that the 2nd wife of John Qualtrough (1729-1805, Lezayre), Catherine Kelly (they married 1775 at Andreas), is the daughter of John Kelly & Catherine Killip, bn 1728 Jurby. If this is so, this makes her a half sister to Isabel Mylecharane, bn 1718 Lezayre, d/o Wm Mylecharane & Catherine Killip, -Isabel married Ewan Callow of Ballatersin, Maughold in 1742 at Lezayre - who was granddaughter of Mary Mylecharane als Qualtrough who died in Maughold in October 1720. This of course needs proving. Catherine Qualtrough als Kelly died in 1804 in Lezayre, but I need to acquire her will and see the MI if there is one to get an age at death... hopefully.

This Mary Mylecharane als Qualtrough is sister of Ewan Qualtrough (died 1722, Rushen) who in turn is father of Margery Qualtrough who married John Gawn in 1710 Rushen. At this point, I do not know the parentage of Ewan & Mary Qualtrough who may have also had another sibling, John....
