Am looking for a particular Qualtrough family in Braddan MIs(or maybe another early Douglas burial ground if such existed in this time period)
At present I have John Qualtrough died 1754, wigmaker of Douglas, however his father, Henry's will of 1760 has him a beneficiary suggesting he was still alive at this time!
His wife I have as Ann Dawson who died in 1760, but this may not be the correct John Qualtrough.......
Hoping that an MI transcription will assist in sorting out the John who married Ann whose Will infers she was a widow.
Tentative family tree:
Descendants of John Qualtrough or Qualterough
Generation No. 1
1. JOHN QUALTROUGH OR3 QUALTEROUGH (HENRY2 QUALTROUGH, POSS WILLIAM1) was born Abt. 1713 in Prob Rushen, Isle of man, and died Abt. July 1754 in Douglas, Isle of Man. He married ANNE DAWSON 4 February 1742/43 in Braddan Isle of Man, daughter of WILLIAM DAWSON and UNKNOWN. She was born Abt. 25 February 1722/23 in Kirk German, Isle of Man, and died Abt. 26 March 1760 in Braddan, Isle of Man.
Children of JOHN QUALTEROUGH and ANNE DAWSON are:
i. ELINOR4 QUALTEROUGH, b. 2 March 1744/45, Douglas, Isle of Man; d. Probably died young.
ii. JANE QUALTEROUGH, b. 11 March 1746/47, Douglas, Isle of Man. (The father in this baptism is Will Qualtrough, however I consider this incorrect)
iii. JOHN QUALTEROUGH, b. 4 June 1750, Douglas, Isle of Man; d. Abt. 22 November 1753, Braddan, Isle of Man.
iv. ANNE QUALTEROUGH, b. 10 May 1751, Douglas, Isle of Man; d. Probably died young.
v. WILLIAM QUALTEROUGH, b. 15 August 1753, Douglas, Isle of Man; d. Probably died young.
If you have access to the Braddan MIs for 1750s/60s then I would appreciate help in sorting out this family please.
Thank you
Elizabeth
