Re: Collister family
In Response To: Collister family ()

If you are sure that Crosby is the place of birth of your William Thomas Collister, then the following is more than likely him:

William Thomas Collister bp 27 Aug 1857 Marown, s/o John Collistor/Collister & Dinah Cottier.

John & Dinah were married at Marown 18 Oct 1838. The IGI says he was aged 28 & she 26.

Children to this couple were (all baptised Marown):

Ann Martha bp 4 August 1839
John bp 17 January 1841
Elizabeth bp 19 June 1842
Joseph bp 25 April 1844
William Thomas bp 1 February 1846 (He must have died, although I could not find his burial at Brian Lawson's index.)
Emma bp 17 June 1849
Caesar William bp 18 April 1851
Christiana bp 30 October 1853
William Thomas bp 25 Aug 1857

John Callister/Collister snr would have been born about 1810 and he apparently died 23 December 1877

Dinah Cottier would have been born about 1811/1812 and she died 26 February 1865

All the above info from the IGI @ www.familysearch.org

Hope this helps
