Re: I need help with a John Corrin

Hi there,

I also found Annie living with Aunt Jane in 1881.

I have a record for a marriage between a John Corrin and Isabella Harrison July 29 1852, Malew

I think that the correct Isabella Harrison is daughter of Edward Harrison and Jane Snowdon/ Dixon. Because this couple also had a daughter Jane. (For the other Isabella Harrison I could find no sister Jane). If this assumption is correct then Isabella was christened 1 November 1829, Malew.

Following this I would think that John is most likely born 1819 - 1832.

I have been told recently by relatives that John's father was John Corrin and his mother Mary Crebbin. I have not seen any proof for this and would like to. The above couple had a son John b. 1829 Kirk Rushen which fits very nicely ....but is it true?

The only 2 John Corrins that seems to fit the age in the 1881 census are as follows:
1) John CORRIN Other W Male 60 Douglas, Isle of Man, England Fire Man (Seamen) Address: Vessel "SS Monas Isle", Census Place Braddan, Isle of Man, Isle of Man

2) John CORRIN Head M Male 54 Arbory, Isle of Man, England General Labourer Address: 21 Private House Ballasalla, Malew, Isle of Man, Isle of Man

This is all I know at present
What do you think?
