I have the following newspaper cutting from the Manx Sun, 13.08.1842
Died
In May last, at Bonny in Africa, in the 25th year of his age, Mr Thomas Craine, surgeon son of Mr Craine, Kilkenny, Braddan, and nephew of the Rev. Edward Craine, Vicar of Onchan, deeply regretted by a numerous circle of friends.
Also noted is the death of a Mr. William Skillicorn from Liverpool but obviously with Manx connections.
Does anyone know of any particular reason for Manxmen to be in this area at this time and how I might find out more, particulary about Thomas Craine. Any leads would be helpful. Many thanks.
