Phillie Garrett & wife lived in lower Ballachrink, just before the old Chapel at East Baldwin. Mrs Garrett lived on there into my early days but I don't remember Phillie. I have an autograph letter from him in the Quine papers, as he rented L.B. from that family.
There is a Marjorie Winifred Garrett aged 62, d. Union Mills, bur Braddan New Cemetery 15 Jan 1970 Grave #2787. She looks a likely contender. I assume a Social Services grave would receive successive un-related burials until it was full.
I was always interested to know if P.G. was the son of the famous "Phillie The Desert" i.e. Philip Garrett the folk-singer of the croft known as The Desert, 1 mile lower down the E.B. valley.
