my great grandfather was married to jane cowley, and went to america to better himself
in 1868 and never returned. He was supposed to be the youngest of a large family, but I cannot find this family. There was a sister, a mrs cavendish who raised my grandfather,
and an uncle william who came to tell robert
that his father had died in America 1880
