Paul Qualtrough bn poss Rushen c1807

Paul Qualtrough married Mary Clague (parentage not known) in Rushen in 1828, Rushen and according to most census' Paul was a stone mason of Croit e Caley, which is close to Kentraugh, Rushen.

Paul died in 1881. Paul and Mary had several children with names like Paul, Martin which are completely unusual to Qualtrough naming patterns, although one son was called Edward which is a common name in Q naming patterns.

Descendants of this couple went eventually to Rochester NY. and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,USA.

At this point no parentage has been found for Paul Q (bn c1807) and while it is appreciated that the Rushen parish registers are incomplete for this period, there must be an avenue for locating such information.

I would welcome suggestions as to how to find parentage of Paul bn 1807. My gut feeling tells me that he is tied up (perhaps through illegitimate means) somehow with the Qs of Kentraugh however with a name like Paul, this is not definable - this is the first known incident of the name Paul in the Qualtrough family.

Perhaps there is a naming pattern in the Clague family of his wife, Mary, whose parentage is not know either.

Any help would be most appreciated.
