I'm trying to sort out the Killips from the Lezayre area, in hopes of figuring out where my connections are. I have some information from various sources, so I'm attempting to match the information with the proper name.
The 1881 census on-line shows:
- Killip, John; head; widowed; male; age 84; born Lezayre; occupation shoemaker
- Killip, John; son; single; male; age 52; born Lezayre; occupation shoemaker
- Killip, Elizabeth; daughter; single; female; age 49; born Lezayre; occupation (blank)
I have a death registration for an Elizabeth Killip, who died Feb. 10th (1890) at Closevolley, Lezayre.
Age: 57 years; Spinster.
With additional information from the IGI, etc. I think this is the same Elizabeth. Also, John Killip (the father) age 86, a shoemaker, died in 1883, at Closevolley, and the informant for that death was John (son) also residing at Closevolly, Lezayre.
The 1871 IOM index book for Lezayre, District 1, Entry 35:
- Killip, John; age 74; born Lezayre
- Killip, John; age 42; born Lezayre
- Killip, Elizabeth; age 28; born Lezayre
This cannot be the same Elizabeth, so I'd like to know how this 28 year old Elizabeth is related to the two Johns.
If someone has access to the 1871 census, I'd appreciate a look-up to see how the Elizabeth (age 28) is related. I'd also like to know where the other Elizabeth (at age 39) is.
Thank you.
