Re: Cain of Barrow/Whitehaven
In Response To: Cain of Barrow/Whitehaven ()

I have the 1891 census for Lancashire on disc, if the family were in Lancashire (or Barrow) at that time I could try to find them if you have an address, or area (ie Walney, Hindpool, Roose, etc) - unfortunately Whitehaven was in Cumberland pre the reorganisation when Barrow moved into Cumbria and that is on a different census, which I do not have. Have you tried the IGI 1881 census on line for the family? I have the 1901 census for Lancashire on order (expected at the end of the month) and if the lady died in Barrow in 1906, she may have been resident there in 1901. These census returns are not name linked, you have to search by area. I would be happy to do that if you have any idea of the area that the person lived, I could also search by name - might be a lengthy process - if you knew names of full family to search for. Let me know anyway, I will try to help if I can.
