Myy great-uncle Fred Cannon served as a commissioned Army officer in World War 1.
At some time he had worked as a Missionary in China. His father was the Bishop of the Isle of Man. Uncle Fred was married to my maternal grandmother's sister, Ada Hill, of Branhall Cheshire. (Obviously Fred was not a real Uncle, but the title was the easiest)
I have a family photograph showing a gathering at this Bishop's home on the Island with King George Vth and Queen Mary the main guests.
Does anyone know anything of this family?
My reasons - I am researching for accurate background information for a saga-type novel. Canadians are fascinated by family histories, and as I am now a grandmother, want to get the record intact.
Thanks to anyone who can help
