Thanks to Brian's site, and Frances's too, I have solved a 20-year mystery! My g-g-g-grandmother Judith QUAYLE who married Charles KEWLEY in 1798 in Braddan, remained elusive for all that time. Then just yesterday I found on Brian's site the will of Margaret QUAYLE, 1822, of KK Michael who mentions her sister Judith KEWLEY. Voila! The will also has a bequeath to "my niece Catherine KEWLEY", who is my g-g-grandmother.
I then found Joney QUAYLE als CANNELL 1819 of KK Michael, who I was able to determine was their mother. Her daughter is listed as "Joney". Recently there was a discussion on this BB that "Joney" became "Judith", so this matches.
I also found the father, David QUAYLE 1816, and have the IGI baptism for Jony QUAYLE 18 Sep 1774 which nicely matches the 1841 census and her burial age in 1845.
From there, I've had great fun today building a tree of QUAYLE's from KK Michael from these wills, the IGI and various notes. Hurray! There is now another avenue of research ahead. And I've been so stumped for so long. Thank you Thank you.
PS, David QUAYLE (1738-1815) turns out to be the son of William QUAYLE (ca 1691-1766) and Margaret CAINE. Haven't been able to go any further yet. Anybody have QUAYLE's in KK Michael?
