Would it have been likely and/or possible for a woman who was born in Liverpool, Eng., then married in Maughold, IOM in 1818, to have an "Adult Christening" (age 26) performed in a Liverpool, Eng. Church in 1824 - using her maiden name?
In other words, was this a lawful practice, or would she be required to be baptised under her married surname?
Would the laws of the Church in England have differed from those in the IOM?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
