Corkill/Kay(e)

My great grandfather William James CORKILL was christened 26 November 1843 at Kirk German, the son of John Corkill and Ann KAY(E). John, christened 18th December Kirk German, was the son of Thomas Corkill and Mary KERMOD(E). Two other children were born to John and Ann - Ann christened 3 July 1842, German, and Eliza christened 22 June 1845. I have heard that Eliza died in infancy, but we have no information about Ann. William was 'orphaned at an early age', and lived with his maternal grandparents, James and Mrs Kay, Marown, but we don't know if Ann was also taken into this household or not. Can anyone suggest how we might find out about the Kay family, and what became of Ann. William James came to New Zealand in 1859 and we have him well documented from that time. I would be grateful for any help in gathering information. Many thanks.
