Hello! I am new to this list and am hoping someone can help me with my greatgrandparents. My greatgrandmother was Catharine Tear, daughter of Philip Tear and Catharine Moore. The Moore's were from Maughold. Philip was from Bride but they married in Maughold. Young Catharine was born in 1849 and both Catharine's came to America in 1850. I do not know if Philip came with them or if he had died. I cannot find any death or burial information for him in either IOM or USA. I know he had died before 1853. How might they have traveled? Was there a usual port of embarkation? A predictable route? Port of entry in the US? Any input would be most appreciated. Thank you and Happy New Year! Maryann
