My great grandfather was James Cannell born Feb. 8, 1824 in Balladoole ne Castletown, Isle of Man. Married Johanna Gully(Gulley or Hulley) in 1854 He died in 1868 in Fayette County, Iowa, USA Their children were born in Illinois or most of them in Iowa, USA.

I believe , but don't have proof that his parents were Thomas Cannell and Anna Claque. Their children: William, b. Oct. 1, 1813,Ann b. Sept. 1815, Thomas b. July 1818, Charles b. March 1821, James b. Feb. 8, 1824 in Balladoole ne Castletown Isle of Man, John b. June 1826.
