Can anyone tell me anything about about the 'orange boats'? I have been told boats went from the Isle of Man to Seville to bring back oranges. On 22nd October 1860, William Quirk was captain of one such vessel but he drowned when the vessel hit an uncharted rock off Seville. William came from Peel and was 39 when he died. Did boats sail from here and is there any way of finding further information on this incident?
