Trying to trace Great Grandfather

My Great Grandfather, George Sylvester Ashworth and his sister Jessie Ashworth were placed in the Isle of Man Home for Orphan & Destitute Children on October 20th 1887. Both children were then sent to Canada via the S S Siberian sailing from Glasgow in 1890, having been dismissed from the Children's Home on May 6 1890.
So far we have no record of my Great Great Grandmother's name or family history. The children were brought to the home due to the mother's immoral life, both children being listed as illegitimate.
I am hoping there is a 1881 census for George and his mother which would reveal any further family history.

Birth place of both children is Douglas, Isle of Man.

Thanks to anyone who can help in my efforts to discover the roots of our family.

Sincerely,
Laurie Flood
