I am currently researching my partners family. James Done Cowell was born in Ramsay IOM 14/2/1875. His fathers name was John Robert and mother (we think!) was Margaret Christian Killiss(not sure if surname is spelt the same as this). John Robert emigrated with his family to British Columbia, Canada but I can't find any reference to this. I also know that he was a member of the IOM government but again I can't find any reference as to in which capacity or dates. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.
