I have a LeMaitre family in Andreas.
Francoise Etienne LeMaitre was born in Campience, France in 1828, died Lezayre 1883. I don't know when he arrived on the Island but he worked as a horse doctor/Vet. If you check Frances site you will find him in the Trade directories living at Ohio Cottage etc. There is also a memorial inscription in Andrea East graveyard which names 2 daughters.
I would suggest you ask Brian to look-up the census records to see if there is any connection.
