CHRISTENINGS - RICHARDSON CHILDREN

Would it have been likely that 2 children born in the USA circ. 1855-56, and then brought to the IOM by their IOM-born mother, be christened in Saint George's Church, Douglas at the age of 9-10 years? (Both christenings took place on the same day). The parents divorced in the USA and the mother brought the 2 youngest children back home with her sometime between 1857 and 1861 (being the dates between the divorce and a listing on the 1861 IOM census). Why would the parents not have had them baptized in the States?

I have found records of christenings for 2 children I believe to be 'my' family, however, there are additional christian names included in these records for the children which I don't have otherwise and I'm hoping to determine the connection.

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
