Following on from the info given by Elizabeth, your family apperas in the 1881 census living in the parish of Lonan, details below:-

Thomas's wife Ann Caine must have died somewhere between 1877 and 1881. Thomas`s sister Eleanor is looking after the family and from the IGI it looks as though Thomas`s and Eleanor`s parents may have been a James Fargher and Margaret Kelly. However this needs to be treated with caution as the IGI and cenus info can be inaccurate see below:-
Eleanor Fargher ch:-03 Sep 1854 Lonan parents:- James Fargher and Margaret Kelly
Thomas Fargher ch:-17 Sep 1837 Lonan parents:-James Fargher and Margaret Kelly.
If the IGI is correct his age should have been 43 yrs in 1881.
You need to check the earlier censuses.
