At the marriage of John Radcliffe and Anne Skeally in Ballaugh, 1 June 1839, two of the witnesses are John Skeally and John Radcliffe. I think they could be the fathers of the couple but I don't know if fathers were allowed to be witnesses at a marriage. Does anyone know whether this was possible, please?
