A family lore has it that the FEVENS came to Nova Scotia from the Isle of Man. The eariest record I have of my great grandfather, Charles Fevens (b about 1860 d 1937)is a reference in the 1881 Nova Scotia census. He had been orphaned as a boy (2 years?) when, the story goes, his father, a sea captain was lost at sea when his ship sank in a storm. Charles' mother died about the same time giving birth. I have found a marriage slip from St. George Church of Halifax, Nova Scotia for the wedding of Charles Feven and Helen Jackson in 1856. I believe they were his parents.
I would like to hear from anyone who has a FEVENS or FEVEN in their family tree.
