Kermode - mystery marriage

Hoping someone can help me. My Great Grandmother was always called a Manx, I have found her birth certificate and she was actually born in Liverpool. I am wondering if her parents were from the Isle of Man.

The only information I have is as follows from my Grandmothers birth certificate;

BIRTH: Caroline Kermode born June 6, 1896 in Liverpool, Sub District of Mount Pleasant.

PARENTS: William Kermode and Caroline Potter or Poller (hard to read). It is noted on the certificate that there was a Catherine Kermode - Sister present at the birth. Not sure if this is an adult or a previous child. William's occupation at this time was a Plasterer Labourer.

I have looked for this marriage, but to no avail. I understand that "William" is a very common name among the Kermodes. I have no clue on when William or his wife were born, so this makes it very hard.

When my Grandmother married in 1913, the area that states the father, has a line drawn through it. I find that odd as my other certificates state the father and if he was or was not deceased. My Grandmother was 17/18 years old at the time of her marriage and she was pregnant. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I am hoping someone can help shed some light on this matter.
Sincerely;
Carol
