Re: Descendants of Thomas Fargher & Jane Quayle

Colin,
Look no more! I have been to the IoM and have now resolved and proven that we are talking off the same family.
William Philip Faragher was my g-g-grandfather. He had a child Catherine b. 1877
(This must be Katie Banks) but we are not sure about the mother. He then married Alice Crowe in 1884 (it states he is a bachelor on the wedding certificate) and they went to Michigan, USA. Where Elizabeth, William (my g-grandfather) and Thomas were born. They re-appear in IoM on the 1891 Census living in Douglas. Florrie was born in Douglas in 1895. I believe that William Snr. died in Douglas in 1900 but I have yet to confirm this.
William jnr. must have gone to Montana between 1911 (after the birth of my grandmother, Florence) and returned in 1914, presumably because of his fathers death. He had another 2 children (1914 & 1916). Then joined the Army and went to Flanders where he died in 1917. His wife Alice went to live with one of her daughters in Birmingham and died in 1955, aged 99.
We never knew about Catherine or Thomas, or that William snr. had also been to the USA.

What is your connection to Thomas Fargher?
