I am trying to trace an ancestor William Woolley who on his marriage entry in Dunkeld, Perthshire, Scotland in 1808 is described as Baker to the Duke of Atholl. As the 4th Duke John Murray was unceremoniously sent back to Scotland in 1804 from being Governor of the Island, it is possible he took his baker William Wolley with him. Woolley is a very unusual name in Scotland so I wondered if he may have come from the Isle of Man.
Any Help very gratefully received.
Best Wishes
Chris Cork
