When my gtgrandmother married for the second time it was in Douglas and the address given was "Knowsley House". The year was 1893. She came from Liverpool with three young children and I am wondering if the address was some kind of home or was it a boarding house or hotel? The strange thing was, as well as lying about her age (her new husband was only 21!!) she called herself a spinster so the idea of perhaps "Knowsley House" being a home for unmarried mothers sprang to mind!! She had actually married in Liverpool and lived with her first husband for about 9 years. Her new husband was living at the Talbot Hotel and at that time his occupation was simply "Boats". Can anyone help please? Thanks....Pat
