The reason I asked is that occupations such as shoemaker could be quite transitory unless he was in business for himself employing several men.
A more productive search would be for John, 13, son of John - which turned up nothing in 1851 but in 1841 there was:

Isabella, 55
John, 25, mine labourer
Esther, 40
John, 3
Ann, 9 months
