Suggestions needed please for USA research

Hi,
Can anyone help me, to help my friend in the USA?
He is in need of suggestions re: finding his ancestors.
I have written his request below in the hopes that SKS would be so kind as to point him in the right direction. TIA.

Carol.

Nelson Cain married Sarah Ovens on May 30, 1824 in Braddan. If I
found the original information would it include the home of Sarah and
her parents names? Here in the USA it is common to get that information
on an old certificate. Since these are church documents in Braddan do
they provide many clues. I am trying to find Sarah in England and there
are several Ovens families.

This is the info I have on the family in the 1851 census.

1851 Douglas, district 10, entry 123, Fairy Ground
Sarah Caine, head, widow, 56, nurse, England
Sarah, daughter, 24, milliner, Douglas (This is my great
grandmother)
Catherine, daughter, 20, dressmaker, Douglas
Henry, son, 16, printer compositor, Douglas

Based on this information she would be born in about 1794-5. I have
found a Sarah who was born in Cradley, Hereford, England who was born in
that year. Unfortunately she also married a John Turner in 1822. I
cannot find whether or not he died and she remarried two years later.

Do you have any suggestions on how to research Sarah in the IOM or
England to get some additional information on her or John Turner? Both
Nelson & Sarah were apparently off the Island in the 1841 census and the
kids are found with various relatives.
Are there taxation documents or anything that might give the names of
Sarah's parents names? Perhaps a death certificate? Do they include
that type of information?

Any ideas would be appreciated.
