Re: John Mylrea/Jane Elizabeth Kewley @ Andreas

The 1881 census information was obtained by another Mylrea descendant when she visited the Church at Andreas, IOM in September 1993.

It cites John Mylrea as being from “Ballycross” and the other material is as per my previous posting. It would seem that this John Mylrea is the son of the John Mylrea and Elizabeth Garrett that you mention. The material I have on that family is as follows:

John Mylrea (1786-1877) m Elizabeth Garrett (1797-1879), 18 April 1819 and their children as: James, 1819+, Catherine, 1821+, John, 1823+, Jane, 1825+, Elizabeth, 1827+, Eliza, 1830+, Susan, 1832+, Mary Ann, 1835+, John, 1837+, Margaret, 1840+

The census information also refers to:

William Mylrea, blacksmith, Upper Village, St Thos. Breddon 1827(-1893)
Mary ma 1850, b. K’michael; 1825(-1911) and their children – all born at Andreas – as:
John, b1852, Mary Ann, b1854(-1885), Margaret, b1857, Thomas Daniel, b1861(-1947), William Frederick, b1865, Elizabeth Jane, b1867(-1957), Frances Emily, 1870(-1904)
