"Complaint being made by Jon Caley of Bal=lacaley that his Burial-Ground in Lezayre has been incroach'd on by the Relations of Ewan Scarf who have lately buried y body of the sd Scarf in his the sd Jon Caley's proper burying ground.
Depositions are taken this 11th day of Jany 1717...
Wm Caley sworn... that having viewed the ground in y Church Yard.... is the very ground where Jon Caley's father was buried... He the Deponent being present at the burying the sd Jon Caley's Father & his Grandmother & Uncle who were side by side in the Ground aforesd... the Father lying next the Church...

Margt Caley als Stephan also gave evidence, as did Thomas Caley.
"Patrick Garret & Ewan Curlet acknowledged that they broke up the ground & made the grave of Ewan Scarf aforesd..."
The "Uncle" buried was later named as "Uncle Edmond Caley".
The above information is included among Archdeacon wills 1717-1721, copied to film no.0106211.
