Re: CHRISTIAN+CURPHEY+KINVIG
In Response To: CHRISTIAN+CURPHEY+KINVIG ()

Eliza Kinveg was my Great Great Grandmother. Her parents were Isabel Curphey and Thomas Kinveg (also spelled Kinvig, Kenvig). Eliza Kinveg was born in Malew parish, Isle Of Man, but there is some confusion over the exact date. There is a birth record on the IGI for an Eliza Kenvig dated 10/07/1815. There is also a corresponding Christening entry for Eliza Kinvig dated 16/07/1815. But according to a photocopy of a page from the Muncaster family bible, Eliza was born on June 20th or 25th (difficult to read) 1815.

Regardless of exactly when she was born, Eliza married William Muncaster on 17/05/1836 at Malew, IOM. William Muncaster was a watch/clockmaker, as was his father who originally came to the IOM from Whitehaven in Cumbria. According to family records William Muncaster was born on 03/04/1814, but I have been unable to verify this date or the discover where he was born.

William Muncaster and Eliza Kinveg had 12 children, many of whom later settled in New Zealand. I have details of all of these if required.

I do not have much information on Thomas Kinveg or Isabel Curphey and I would welcome any information on them that you may have. I would be particularly interested to know details of their parents.
