Corkhill - Missing Willy or Dick

Now having gained your attention :-)

I am currently looking for a connection between a William "Willy" Corkhill born in the Isle of Man between 1798 and 1802 and emigrated to Australia sometime in the mid 1830's. According to his death cert. he was only 78 when he died in Feb 1878 but was 42 when he married in Jun 1841. If these figures are accurate then he was probably born between Feb and June 1799 or Feb and June 1800. His occupation was a seaman of some sort and may have worked his passage outward. It is know that his father's name was also William but his mother's forename was not known at the time of his death. There appears to be two possibe mothers in the IGI being Jane Kneale or Margaret Crellin.

A letter by my late father has a possible connection between William and a supposed brother Richard "Dick" Blake Corkhill that sailed from England as master of the ship Perserverance in 1838. Richard was born circa 1812 in the Isle of Man and died at 75 in Sydney Australia. There appears to be no record of his birth or christening in the IGI listings.

Any help or advice on where to look would be greatly appreciated as I have seeking a link for around two years without success.
