Hi - my name's John Gibson, I live in Sheffield, Yorkshire, and my parents are John (Jack) Gibson and Eleanor (Lena) Gibson née Lunt. I was born in Foxdale on 12 Feb 1950 (in a property called Water's Edge, by The Eairy, to be exact). My parents were comeovers who were not stopovers, and lived for a while on (?) Springfield Terrace in a cottage which I think may now have been demolished and built over.
I'm looking at constructing our family tree and believe that my mother's sister Alice Lunt - later Richardson - had connections with the Rutters.
Grateful to make family contacts or to receive any information about the family. I'm also interested in learning anything else about Foxdale at the time, and any relevant press cuttings or photo's, e.g. whose house was Water's Edge, who ran the bakery, who was the retired seaman who died in a fire at his cottage, anything about the fire at my parents' cottage, what were the 50s mining trials in the old Foxdale lead mines?
Thanks in advance.
