Are you researching the name LEWIS? Looking for Emma LEWIS who married William Charles Roper QUIRK on 15 October 1877 at Kirk Braddan Church, Braddan, Isle of Man.

Her father was Robert LEWIS, shown on her marriage certificate, as a Farmer from Kingsley(?), Cheshire.

Emma does not appear in the 1881 IOM Census, although her husband is shown as residing at the Cumberland Inn, James Street, Douglas, with other members of the QUIRK family.

I have checked the deaths at the General Registry between 1877 and 1882 without success, and her name does not appear on the double family gravestone at Braddan Cemetery. W.C.R. Quirk died in April 1891.
